Jemma - Deputy Manager
Le Monde Hotel
I knew the General Manager of one of the venues who got me a job on the bar.
I worked at Frankenstein's for a year, started as a Waitress/Bar Tender and worked up to Assistant Manager. I moved to Glasgow to open Gordon St Coffee as Unit Manager, then transferred to Le Monde to be Assistant General Manager.
In a huge venue/complex such as Le Monde anything from fixing someone's blinds a hotel room to making a French Martini at the Sky Bar. Every day is totally different.
The staff, everyone who works at Glendola is fantastic.
Opening and running a successful artisan coffee shop at Central Station.
Hard work, determination, confidence and a passion for knowledge and the hospitality industry.
There is a range of training opportunities. I personally have done 4 x 1-day Supervisor training, 4 x 3-day MPP, manager conference, product knowledge training, craft training.
Unique but amazing.
How each member of staff is treated like an individual.
That's a good idea. Good luck.
