Meet Victor

  • Why did you choose to work for us?

    I found out about the place through a friend that already worked in the venue and after applying and being given the job I moved to London from Ireland.

  • Tell us about your story so far?

    I began as a member of the Floor Staff in Waxy O'Connor's London and after two months I went onto the bar as a Bar Tender. Then after about a year and a half I was promoted to become a Supervisor and part of the Management Team. After a short period of time exploring London, I cam back to Glendola, working as an Assistant Manager in Crown & Anchor.

  • What do you get up to on a typical day/shift?

    Opening/closing procedures of the pub, ensuring staff carry out their tasks and customer service correctly, supporting and developing the staff in all sectors, back of house paperwork, maintenance of the venue, cash ups

  • What do you like most about working here?

    The team, atmosphere and clientele, along with the ability to develop and personal progress.

  • What’s been your biggest achievement so far?

    Becoming part of the Management Team and completing my Level 2 and 3 NVQs in Team Leading and Management in the Business Sector

  • What makes someone successful here?

    Having a can do attitude with motivation and the ability to work efficiently and effectively in a high paced environment.

  • Tell us about the training and development…

    We deliver in house training sessions every three weeks, along with arranging external trainings and site visits. There is also great support in developing people through to positions of interest. We also work along with Smart Training and Recruitment in providing fully funded NVQ qualifications in all sectors of the hospitality industry.

  • What is it really like to work here?

    A fast paced environment with a great atmosphere and a friendly team and customer base.

  • What do you think makes us unique as an employer?

    Having a wide range of different bars and locations always looking to expand and develop their portfolio. Along with having a strong structure and being well managed.
